Congratulations to all at Babybumps Support Group for winning the 2007 NSW DoCS Children's Week 'Community for Children Award'.

Our mission is to assist the women, children, partners & families who are adversely affected by some form of perinatal mood disorder or those struggling to meet the emotional demands of parenting babies & small children along the bumpy road of parenting. We achieve this by providing free access to a professionally evidenced based support group and free child minding service, weekly supported playgroup, outreach service, access to a multi-media resource library and education.

Babybumps goal is to help foster a sense of mental & emotional well-being amongst those attending its support group and play group. We want to help families along the tumultuos road of parenting. It is our goal to assist families to help bond during the child’s crucial stages of emotional, social, cognitive and behavioural development. Thus helping to foster healthy levels of self-esteem and secure attachment in the mothers, partners, carers and children now and into the future.

Have a look around, we are glad that you have found our site. Contact us should you have any questions, comments or concerns

The Winter Blues

The weather has turned cold and bleak

days drag and and so do the weeks

But remember before to long

The springbirds will sing their delightful song

"the winter's over and now it's spring

the winter is over it's time to sing

new growth, new life new hope

get out and smile-try not to mope"

Thought of the day.....

Try really hard to challenge yourself and go and do something positive..it only has to be small..put the baby in the pram and go for a walk and look at the flowers & birds, go to the park, go to a mother's group or a playgroup...make a friend...get connected with others..as it is impossible to live life feeling alone and disconnected from the world, yourself or family.

Have a shower, put on something bright and fresh...it may make you feel a little better.

Next time you look into the mirror smile at yourself...it may sound silly but it is such a positive step in the right direction...and that is the key..take small steps..baby steps
